My wife’s PC is now running Windows 7 having rolled Windows 10 back. Same problem with same bad results. No idea what changed between the non-working upgrade to Windows 10 and the working upgrade.

Rolled back to Win 7 and all working again. Device Manager was showing the network adapter Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller with a yellow exclamation mark.
You can try installing the drivers in compatibility mode and check if this helps: Upgraded to Win10 and network interface doesn’t work. I have the same question Vmende Replied on September 6, Installed the latest driver from the Broadcom web site.

Eventually I rolled Windows 10 back to Windows 7. Broadcom claim its Windows 10 compatible. This will be very difficult for me to retest.

I had the same issue and only solution was to rollback to Win 7 x Installed and Broadcom NetXtreme now working. In reply to IDontByte’s post on August 10, The Broadcom NIC was supposed to be Windows 10 compatible not ethermet are according to the Broadcom web site, but obviously not, even with their latest driver installed.
